At this point, since I'm not trying to meet people, I don't really care who's "real" and who's "fake". If it's a fake person with an entertaining blog, I'll still read it! Actually, my best friend here...who is decidedly real...has a picture that's not him. Funnily enough it resembles him quite a bit though. It's not like he posted a fake picture trying to fool people that he's some super buff stud.

the blogs expose the real person behind the profile... the verified profile shows (erroneously) the site owners dedication to the purity of their site... how the site is administered (response clients, solving problems,ease of reach ect...) is the admin.'s blog  there is a world of difference between insanity and stupidity

Real vs. fake -- don't get me started! There are so many ways to fiddle with a photo to make it seem 'real' when it's not, so yes a blog is in a way a better tool to gauge authenticity.

I agree with you that an active blog detailing ones thoughts, ideas, and happenings are more proof of a real person than a picture. Take the picture you posted for instance, I can remove your name and put my name in its place using Photoshop and no one would know the difference. The only real proof is doing a live cam with someone so they can see that the person on the video screen matches with the images on the site.
